Cabbage Soup Diet Guidelines
There’s a very understandable explanation for the cabbage soup diet FRAUD.
There isn’t any need for you to know anything more about this ridiculous fad diet that seems to have no creator or author. But in case you’re inquisitive like I was then here is what I could find out with the limited the information available.
So Where Did This Diet Come From?
The beginnings of this diet are indefinable. It first surfaced in the initial 1980’s, sent from person to person like a chain letter by fax machine.
There were several names for the diet, sometimes a well-known institution such as St.Jude’s diet or the Russian Peasant Diet or the Children’s Hospital Diet.
Any said relationship to these institutions is false.
Most individuals on the cabbage soup diet drink nothing but H2O (water) or unsweetened fruit juice. A typical outline of the diet is a bit like this.
Day One – cabbage soup and fruit, bananas are off-limits.
Day Two – cabbage soup as usual, and vegetables including a half-baked potato without butter.
Day Three – cabbage soup together with vegetables and fruit, not including bananas or potato.
Day Four – cabbage soup bananas plus skimmed milk.
Day Five – cabbage soup, also you can have six tomatoes and up to 20 ounces of beef.
Day Six – cabbage soup, as much beef as you can eat, and a variety of vegetables with the exclusion of potatoes.
Day Seven – unsweetened fruit juice, vegetables except potatoes, brown rice, and of course our ally cabbage soup.
According to the cabbage soup diet you could liberate yourself from 10 pounds in just a week. While it may be possible, a significant amount of that weight will be water weight. It’s not a very good idea to even attempt to lose ten pounds of weight in seven days. But given a week the cabbage soup diet possibly will make someone seriously ill from malnutrition.
In general nothing as radical as the cabbage soup diet is needed to lose weight. Exercise more and eliminate unnecessary calories in order to achieve a goal.
I didn’t know much about the cabage soup diet. Thanks for sharing. Evelina
How does the cabbage soup taste like?
Alex 🙂
Hi Guys there have been many different views on the taste of the cabbage soup diet some say it tastes great and others not so great.
For me I am in the not so great category….
It’s the question everyone wants to know, “How fast can I lose weight?” It’s easy to see why people want to know. An event comes up, a school reunion, a wedding, a job interview, or a party. But before I explain how fast you can lose weight, let me give you brief understanding of the following facts.
When you lose weight, you don’t just shed the fat. You also lose a combination of body fat and muscle tissue. There are studies that clearly show that when we diet, the weight we shed consists usually of about 75% fat and the remaining 25% is muscle. On top of that, a lot of weight loss will end up being water loss. This is important to realize because about 70% of your total body weight is water. Now that you realize, the next thing to understand is that there are factors that affect how fast you lose weight.
You see the human body doesn’t lose weight at a typical rate or speed. In other words, there’s no set speed and different people lose weight at varying speeds. The reason why is because weight loss depends on the amount you weigh, your diet, your lifestyle, your level of physical activity, your current state of heath, your metabolic rate, and the level of stress you’re under. Obviously that is a lot of factors to consider when you wonder, “How fast can I lose weight?” Sure, it would be great if you knew unequivocally the rate of fat loss you can expect, but it’s not possible, but now you understand why.
No doubt you’ve seen weight loss claims of losing up to 20 pounds per week. What you’ve got to realize when that happens is that most of that is water weight. There are a couple of problems with this. First, losing that much weight in one week, especially considering it’s mostly water is not healthy. Second, since it’s mostly water weight, the results will be temporary. So what is the ideal amount of weight to lose per week?
Hello,
I just wanted to thank you for bring this to light.
My brother and two nieces went on the diet for one week and lost 7 pounds EACH. It serves as a great springboard to their new exercise regimens. All three needed some weight loss to help with their physiques.
This diet allowed them to slim down to where exercise was the next logical step in their lifestyle progression!
Once again, I cannot thank you enough for getting the word out. The diet worked supremely well for my family, I am a witness to it!
I agree- following this diet is extremely dangerous, especially if followed more than once. However, I do think that adding the soup to your diet is a great idea. Much like drinking a glass of water before a meal helps you to hydrate yourself and generally reduce the amount of food you eat, it’s a low-calorie nutritious addition to your meals. I’ve never tried the diet myself, but almost everyone that I know that has continued to make the soup, even though they don’t follow the diet.
Just an interesting point- it’s basically a low cal, protein free veggie soup.
