Stay Away From Fad Diets
The latest trendy or Fad diets, or the magical diet pills, extreme fasting and numerous other fast weight loss programs may work in the early stages but they can also cause you to lose muscle mass, which has proven to be extremely counter productive to a long-term weight loss.
And for some may initiate damage to your heart and other important internal organs. You can learn more about fad diets and their dangers here.
Here are some tips and relevant links to help you to safely and effectively lose weight fast. Do put your health at risk for the sake of losing a few pounds, understanding the risks.
Because losing weight is in simple terms expending more calories than you take in, figure out exactly what you take in. Maintain a written track record of every morsel, for at least a week. Don’t take short cuts. Short cuts on this only hurts you in the end.
Keeping Track Helps You Stay Focused
Then jot down the calories in each of these foods and drinks. You can use a free calorie counter like the on here on https://www.myfitnesspal.com/.
Now that you know the calories you consume each day and with these ideas you can now start limiting the intake of foods you have been eating. This can be as straightforward as reducing down on portion sizes or just removing some sugar or alcohol from your diet. The food serve sizes you receive are generally too generous both at home and in the restaurants many of us frequent. There are a lots of other easy ways to reduce calories that don’t notably change what you eat.
These include salad dressing, butter, candies, as well as juice and soda. The average American consumes 240 calories a day from beverages such as juice and soda.
How Many Calories Do You Consume
That equates to a massive 90,000 calories a year or 25 pounds of additional body weight! Getting used to the delicious taste of a salad with a pinch of lemon juice makes a large difference. Also note that empty calories such as sugars and white breads (carbohydrates) should be the first things you slash. These can with no trouble be substituted with sugar substitutes and whole grain breads.
Staying Strong
But I really like the side dish? This part of the meal is often a minefield of bad food choices with a selection of French Fries, Macaroni and Cheese and Potato Salad. Exchange these items with healthy alternatives such as steamed vegetables, cottage cheese, or salad (minus the dressing of course, unless it’s a dash of lemon juice.)
Strengthen Your Body
Build up a little muscle to boost muscle mass and metabolism. It’s a decent calorie burner, but will aid you to burn calories even when not exercising. The key to everything is Aerobic workouts. A lot of weight loss professionals say to participate in aerobic activity for 30 minutes a day 3-5 days a week. Don’t pay too much mind to the three to five times a week school of thought on working out.
Find an exercise you can achieve for seven days each week, forever and stick to it, make sure it is not to difficult to start with or you will quit.

It seems like every day there is a new diet that promises to show you how to lose a lot of weight quickly. Some even proclaim that they have developed safe methods for quick weight loss . The fact is that any rapid weight loss is unhealthy.
Hi there,
Interesting blog, I just stumbled on it and I’m already a subscriber I hope it’s not against netiquette but I have just started documenting my own weight loss I lost 30 pounds in a month.
If I can lose weight then anyone can. Whatever you do, never give up and you WILL meet all your weight loss goals!
much thanks for reading,
Joan
Super-Duper site! I am loving it!! Will come back again – taking you feeds also, Thanks.
Determining if you’re currently over-training is fairly simple. If you’re in tune with your body, you can often see the signs of over-training before they get serious. If you are losing interest in workouts, are having trouble sleeping, and feel weak and irritable, you may be in a state of over-training and should take a week or more off
While there are thousands of blogs talking about loosing weight, the thing I like about your blog is that it offers no instant miracle formula like popping a pill and next day you are two pounds lighter. I feel more bloggers should accept the reality of how weight loss occurs naturally and its benefit in leading a healthier lifestyle.
Great tips, I agree that so many sites are just gimics, but this is realistic. Losing weight and being healthy isn’t magic, it just requires dedication.
What I’d like to add is that no matter what weight loss program you use, it all depends on how dedicated you are and if you stick to the diet plan.
There are a ton of free losing weight tips on the internet, but some folks are just too lazy to search for them, and not only that, but they really hope in a quick and magical weight loss ways that some of these programs pretend to offer them.
I agree that a quick loss of weight is unhealthy, and it should be done gradually. I play sports every week, and this helps me maintain my weight under control, and I think will help so many other people, if only they would get up from the couch and just go for a walk, or do some heart pumping activity.
Too many people want instant gratification. Losing weight especially body fat is not an overnight process. Just like the tortoise and the hare…steady wins the race. It undoubtedly took years to put the weight on so don’t expect it to get off overnight.
It makes no difference at all if you read about all the gurus and weight loss diet specialists that use whatever program or method. You need to be candid with yourself and ask if you truly understand the principles of the given weight loss program.
Yes Hank…
As with anything you do in like if you are not going to be honest with yourself and make an effort to understand what you are trying to achieve you are not going to be successful….
I’m 15 and I weigh 175 pounds :/
I used to be into so many sports two years ago, then I moved and began to gain weight.
I stopped playing sports because middle school wasn’t taking sports seriously. But now that I am in high school I want to play sports again. Thing is I feel as if I can’t do to my weight. The practice is hard for me to do and everyone has to stay on course at the same speed or we have to do it all over again. But I get too tired and end up ruining it for everyone. What I’m trying to get at is, how can I lose weight with out dieting. My family doesn’t buy healthy foods all that much. So what am I to do ? I do work out for 30 minutes everyday. Just doesn’t seem like it is working :/
Help me ?
Hi Kellie
This is not something I am really qualified to answer, however have you considered talking with your parents about buying healthier foods?
What if you replaced any sugary drinks with water and maybe increase your exercise from 30 minutes to an hour. Is it just walking you are talking about when you say workout or is it something more than that.
