Quick weight loss and anything related to fad diet plans are all an unwelcome alternative to permanent healthy eating habits, as stated by the American Heart Association and numerous other health experts as it included a high level of sodium (salt) which is bad for the heart.

So in reality what is a fad diet? It’s a heavily promoted diet with some strange ideas on how to lose weight in an impossible and unhealthy manner, usually by consuming nothing more than one food like a cabbage.
You Need More Than One Food Group
One food or one type of food is generally over emphasized with fad quick weight loss diets. They violate the basic rules of good healthy nutrition which is to eat a balanced diet that includes a mixture of foods.
The effects of staying on this diet for a few weeks even if you could, potentially you could develop health related nutritional deficiencies, because no one food group has all the nutrients a living person needs for good health.
The Cabbage Soup Diet is known as one such diet. This well-known and heavily promoted fat-burning soup is served mostly with fruits and vegetables. The diet apparently assists heart patients lose 10 to 17 pounds in seven days before surgery.
Whether these weight loss claims are true or not, all the damage that can be done due to a lack of many vital dietary nutrients would far outweigh the intended benefits and efforts of losing the weight.
One of the most effective and tried and tested diets online today is Tom Venutos’s Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle Diet Program which allows you to lose weight in a healthy yet very effective way.
There are no magical beans like Jack found, or even mystical weight loss cabbages, or any so-called miracle foods when it comes to weight loss and good solid healthy nutrition. That’s why you should eat moderate amounts of food from all the different food groups rather than cutting out everything but a cabbage and water.
These silly and sometimes dangerous diets also disobey a second important rule of good healthy nutrition which is that eating should be enjoyable as well as nutritious. These diets are so unvaried and boring that it’s nearly impossible to stay on them for more than a few days.
Can you see yourself eating nothing but cabbage soup, for even three days much less for the entire week.
By middle of the week crawling insects would be considered as a menu item. If you make it through to the end of the first week you might suffer from a heart attack before you ever tasted quality food again.
Disinterest and bland food isn’t the only reason fad diets aren’t good for you. Most don’t implement any exercise at all , such as walking for weight loss or any form of aerobics for 30 minutes a day every day.
Physical activity helps maintain healthy weight loss, while physical inactivity is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. When you hear a diet that mentions “no need to exercise” run away as far as you can, or at least fire up your treadmill and go for a run.
Quick weight loss is achievable in the right program and with exercise. But if a program sounds too good to be true, it usually is and in some cases can be dangerous to your health.
Water also plays an important part in the process of digestion and elimination of residues. Not drinking enough water is a one-way ticket to constipation and a host of other problems of the intestines. Poor digestion means that you will not get enough energy from the food you’re eating.
You lose weight by exercising more and consuming fewer calories and fat. The calcium in dairy, on the other hand, is known to be important for strong bones and teeth.
Hi, good post. I have been thinking about this topic,so thanks for sharing. I will certainly be subscribing to your posts.
This is an interesting post. It can be taken regularly along with plenty of fruits and vegetables. But the effects can be observed over a long period of time. It is pointless to expect the results to be obvious within a few days of taking the drug. The best thing about loss weight are that it makes fat-loss a completely natural process.
Have a wise and proper diet could really help a lot for the quick weight loss. In addition, walking is very effective regime activities for immediate weight loss. From this article also, it gives me more info and alternative for quick weight loss. Thanks for this!
To make our weight loss quickly I think it’s not a strange idea. If we want to make our weight loss we should maintain our diet which can be a real balancing act. We should reduce diets which is high in fat as it promotes overweight and obesity but unsaturated fat is need to consume calories but not more than 25 percent. Drinking water helps a lot so we should drink plenty of plain water everyday as it is also is responsible for carrying nutrients into and wastes out of cells, so the body functions properly. Regular exercise is needed everyday to help in maintaining healthy body while loosing weight.
Whatever way you dress it up, remember fast weight loss is plain dangerous.
It is a like a quick get rich scheme. If it is too good to be true, there has to be a downside.
10 – 17 pounds in 1 week is far too much weight to be losing in such a short period of time. In order to successfully shed weight and keep it off for good you need to change your lifestyle. You must identify all the habitual behavior that is causing you to live an unhealthy lifestyle and gradually change it a little at a time, progressively transforming all your bad habits in to good ones. It is also important to set realistic goals and a timeframe by which you want to achieve them.
Yes I Agree Jess
This is something you need to do gradually overtime so that your body can adjust to the weight loss as well. To many people go for these fast weight loss plans only to find that the put the weight back on twice as fast as they lost it and usually put more weight on than when they started the diet initially.
People freaked out about the acai berry too. Cabbage, berries, all these fad foods are definitely good for you, but eating nothing but them is awful for your body.
Don’t succumb to being a part of the fad diets. Create a health plan for yourself that will help you maintain a positive and healthy lifestyle forever.
I don’t know how well I would do with an all cabbage diet. I think I would turn into a cabbage! I believe that a healthy diet with fruits and leaving the carbs to small portions, mixed with daily exercise will lead to a healthy lifestyle and weight loss.
Im stuck. Ive tried everything. I’ve started eating the proper proportions. I exercise everyday for a hour. I drink plenty of water. The only problem is that I’ve been doing this for a month and actually gained weight. I don’t understand why I cant lose any. Please help. Any suggestions welcome.
Hi Stuck
Maybe you need to seek some advice from your doctor. If what you say is true about eating right and exercising and you are still gaining weight then there may be other issues for the weight gain that you might want to look into.
I love your blog post and you are right, who would like to eat cabbage soup for that long? LOL
